Her obsession with fashion earned her the nickname “Vogue” in high school and she seemed destined to pursue a career in the clothing industry. She attended The Ohio State University and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Textiles & Clothing.
After receiving her degree, Tamara moved to Atlanta and worked with Neiman Marcus and independent retailer Tootsies before receiving an opportunity to produce shoots for WWD magazine. Women’s Wear Daily enabled Tamara to fulfill a lifelong dream of providing art direction in a renowned publication, handling styling, location scouting, casting, booking and conceptualizing the overall look and feel of the shoots.
Leveraging her experience with WWD, Tamara was able to launch Tamara Connor Designs LLC. and create a unique team of talented people to help her facilitate styling photo shoots for Fortune 100 Companies and celebrities such as Converse, Hanes, Hilton Hotels, Max Factor, Samsung, Sugarland and Lil’ Wayne to name a few.
